Molded Fiber Glass CP was enlisted to help furnish a luxury condominium in the downtown Los Angeles’ Century City/Beverly Hills region with over 250 manufactured custom composite columns. The well-known architectural vision of The Century, the 42-story, 147 unit condominiums and 884,468 square footage was designed for elegance and upscale living. MFG CP was challenged to build 13 foot unique fluted column form molds that deliver a lavishly smooth finish. The unique molds were built in an open mold process and were created in quarter sections. The molds contained a pre-treated mold release agent; they were also made to be corrosion resistant and reusable for possible future projects. In the end MFG CP custom built 15 fluted column form molds that produced over 250 columns, 8 columns per floor. The fluted concrete columns were more cost-efficient than any other stone alternatives.
