Community Projects

Community ProjectsA joint effort with Steven Weitzman at Weitzman Studios, Inc. and Molded Fiber Glass CP participated in a college art project known as “Fear the Turtles” at the University of Maryland in 2005.  Molded Fiber Glass fabricated 50 one hundred pounds turtles each being 4 ½ foot tall and 3 ½ foot wide.

Turtles were fabricated in Kansas and then made the trip to Baltimore for artist rendering. Student, teachers and local artist turned in their ideas for the turtles and the project committee picked fifty finalists to participate. Once the turtles were finished each was placed throughout the campus for students, teachers and the community to enjoy. The turtles were decorated a farmer, mascots, jesters, super heroes, Kermit the frog and many more unique turtles for this project.
