Capabilities of Molded Fiber Glass CP
Open Mold is the most commonly utilized process at Molded Fiber Glass CP. This process is best suited for small to midsize production runs for your larger manufactured product requirement. The parts are gelcoated, in color or for post painting.
Hand Lay-up or Spray-up (Chop) can enhance the strength and is formulated to meet specific physical requirement: weatherability, heat resistance, chemical resistance, fire retardancy and electrical properties. We can also reinforce parts using stiffeners to meet any performance requirement.
Examples of what we mold in the process: locomotive nose cones, military fuel cell, pier caps, pan forms, pile jackets, community art projects, wall forms, and decorative ceilings.
The Lite Resin Transfer Molding process is best suited for mid size production. Parts weigh up to 800lbs. with a molding surface up to 360 square feet. This environmental process utilizes fiberglass mat and resin in a vacuum sealed closed mold. Due to the advantages of the Leader (Low Emission, Appearance, Design Engineered, RTM) process, you end up with an aesthetically appealing part that is smooth on both sides, it also enables us to provide you with prototypes quickly and reduces your speed to market.
Examples of what we mold in this process: horse trailer and battery box covers.
